The Melkweg in Amsterdam is a multimedia hall for live events such as concerts of jazz, rock and pop acts as well as theatre productions, dance shows and movies. The building is an old sugar refinery built in the 19th century. As from the beginning of the seventies, it was used as a youth centrum and now it is one of the most important event locations in the Netherlands.
Every year well-known festivals like the „Festival of Fools“ or the „One World Poetry-Festival“ take place at the Melkweg. The venue has its own restaurant called „Eat@Jo’s“ and offers a wide international menu. Renowned artists like Robbie Williams, the Arctic Monkeys or U2 already gave concerts at the Melkweg. It has a maximum capacity of 1.500 visitors.
