Read on to find out more information about Novello Theatre
Opened in 1905 as the Waldorf Theatre, today’s Novello Theatre is one of London’s most renowned venues for theatre productions and musical shows. Most recently refurbished and renovated in 2005, the venue’s 100th anniversary year, the Novello offers state-of-the-art equipment without having lost any of its vintage flair and classical splendour.
In its rich history it has already played host to an illustrious set of events, including a staggering 1.337 performances of “Arsenic and Old Lace” between 1942 and 1946, a three year run of the celebrated musical “The Rat Pack: Live From Las Vegas” ending in 2005 as well as an incredibly successful hosting of the Broadway’s “Footloose” the year after.
Furthermore, the Novello Theatre has been host to a number of the highly acclaimed RSC’s London performances, including “Antony and Cleopatra” starring Patrick Stewart as well as David Tennant famously enacting the role of Prince of Denmark in “Hamlet”.
Nowadays, the Novello’s 1.105 seats are filled to capacity by staging West End favourites like “Mamma Mia!”, “Noises Off!” as well as Darren Brown’s “Svengali”.
